This emerging singer-songwriter showcases her beautiful lyricism, in her latest single Lighthouse with a captivating indie/pop sound and a snappy up-beat melody. Her lyrics are descriptive and tell a very nordic-themed story.
Noemi wrote this song over lockdown in 2020 and recorded at the end of that year with Toby Lloyd from Tiny Triumph Recordings. Ari Guru, a local Wellington artist and friend of Noemi's, jumped onto the track, giving a beautiful, deep undertone. Chris Chetland from KOG studios finished the track by mastering it.
Noemi wrote the song about self-love and healing from love. She explains “I think it's so important to stand in your power and shine your light, don’t dim it for anyone (even the person you have a crush on.) When we shine our light, I feel that we also help people back to their light/self-worth. I had a very uncomfortable experience of losing myself over someone and I learnt so much, the hard way, but that is what created this song... so I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
With her vulnerability and descriptive imagery Lighthouse creates an intimate experience that will get you in your feels, while tapping along to the beat.
Although she is new to the scene, Noemi has been writing music since she was fourteen and at twenty five has decided to share her art, in hopes that her life experience and wisdom can help others.
Noemi is in the process of recording her debut EP and will be working with Toby Lloyd and other local artists in the months to come, so stay tuned! This kiwi artist is one to follow.
