Critically-acclaimed Aotearoa country singer songwriter, Ainslie Allen, has released a new single, Love Doesn’t Work Anymore from her upcoming debut album, Betty (November 19).

“I was in Tamworth, it was 40 degrees, I would’ve killed for a cold beer!” says Ainslie Allen of the latest single.
“At the time I felt nothing was going right, it was ‘one of those days’ I went to a bar to self medicate. I had a songwriting session booked the next day with Allan Caswell, we wrote Love Doesn’t Work Anymore...”

The dark country ballad sits nicely on Betty alongside the already-released singles Done and Gone, You Think You’re (Better Than Me) and Maserati.
Betty comes with a lot of energy, aroha and wairua and was not without some of life’s hurdles. Including moving the album release date numerous times because of COVID19 lockdowns and restrictions; the sad passing of her producer's mum; and Ainslie having a new-born baby to throw in the mix!
Ainslie Allen is looking forward to taking her debut country album on the road in February 2022.
With her band The Huckleberries, they will play waiata from the album, some of Ainslie’s back catalogue and maybe a country cover or two. Ainslie will awhi local acts as support in each town. More details at www.ainslieallen.nz
Betty will be released on November 19; catch Ainslie Allen live in support of the release in February 2022. All details at www.ainslieallen.nz
