Wellington’s finest TOI is wrapping up the year and welcoming the sunshine with a pumping pack of three remixes from the band’s celebrated self-titled EP, released earlier this year.
TOI invited three of the best electronic producers/DJs on the New Zealand scene to select a track from their EP and re-envision it for summer. This is the result!
Wanaka-based multi-electronic extraordinaire Danny Del Amor takes the groove-laden I Want You and elevates it to a dreamy, summer anthem. LISTEN HERE.
Internationally renowned producer/DJ and radio host Dick Johnson works his magic with Lean Back and turns it into a throwback club banger. LISTEN HERE.
Kiwi festival favourite, Christchurch-based producer/DJ Fairbrother injects a hit of drum n bass and one helluva drop into Thinking Too Much. LISTEN HERE.
Also scheduled for a cheeky drop next week are two unofficial remixes by Graysound and DHEM. Keep your eye on social media and Soundcloud for these drops.
It’s a fitting end to a massive year for TOI, who released their self-titled EP, which has clocked up more than 700,000 streams on Spotify alone and continues to grow. The band also toured New Zealand on the back of the release.
TOI is now gearing up for an exciting year ahead with new music just around the corner, including an early January release of a live track I Wanna Rock recorded on the band’s tour at the iconic Wellington venue Meow. The never-before-released I Wanna Rock is a soulful, funk-based tune, which reinforces why TOI is considered one of the tightest live acts around. It’s a Kiwi summer banger for sure.
