Deadbeat, the solo drum and bass project from Blindspott’s Shelton Woolwright, is a unique high energy 'Drum DJ' live act - delivered with conviction, layering live drums over a hip hop, Trap, DnB and electronic mash-up with a hint of rock. Think Girl Talk meets Travis Barker. At a closer look Deadbeat is more involved. This is not just a 'DJ set' this is a visual LIVE experience, a collection of credible music and samples uniquely mixed together to bring the concert / festival goer a never seen before live experience.
Now releasing original music, Deadbeat is excited to deliver the fourth single, Diamonds. Moving from the live realm to the studio, Deadbeat manages to capture the energy and vibe of the festival genre and the result is high energy, original drum and bass with strong vocals.
Diamonds features the signature Deadbeat drum and bass beat and the rich vocals from Tauranga’s incredible up-and-coming soloist, Sophie-Maude. The song was crafted by writers, Shelton Woolright, Joey Illah and Alayna Powley.
The single was released just prior to Christmas - just in time to kick off the festival season, with the accompanying video out today.
Radlab has directed the video for Diamonds, and is centred around the idea of a festival vibe with a love story featured throughout.
