Wellington based rising artist Ezra Phoenix has released his new single Storm today.
Written by Ezra Phoenix, Storm is produced and mixed by Toby Lloyd from Tiny Triumph Recordings, and mastered by Chris Chetland from KOG Studios. Toby has also produced Ezra's debut self-titled album Ezra Phoenix, and recent single Diamond Dress in 2021.
The release of Storm will be accompanied with a new music video envisioned by Ezra, collaborating again with filmmaker Lee Gingold who captured and produced Ezra's debut music video Love My Brain, Boy in 2021.
The music video takes place in a forest behind a church Ezra attended in his youth; the church was also the location of his debut music video Love My Brain, Boy in 2021.
Ezra Phoenix is confronted by aitu (spirits) that dwell in the wilderness. An Ancient Warrior, a Malevolent Mercenary, a Deceitful Charmer, and a Luring Siren manifest themselves from Ezra's past. Now he must overcome them in order to rise as the Phoenix. But to dwell in a storm is to risk losing all that makes up a person's soul.
“Ezra has a wonderful voice, delicate yet strong, high yet full of emotion, clear yet passionate, and he combines this with classic pop stylings and modern RnB in a way which is fresh, exciting, and welcoming. 5 Stars.” - Kev Rowland, Muzic.net.nz
“Ezra’s music is honest and provocative, beautifully blending pop and RnB styles, crowned by lush and complex vocal harmonies. It’s the type of music you play on repeat and gets stuck in your head.” - Sam Stonell, NZ Musician
