Wellington based interactive design company Resn Creative have won the very prestigious Favourite Website Award (FWA) for the website they created for the New Zealand electronic band Minuit. Regarded in the industry as one of the World’s leading website recognitions Minuit’s website www.minuit.co.nz will be honoured as Site Of The Day on February 2, 2008. This award is expected to bring over one million visitors to the website within the next month and will draw the attention of a who’s who of the international online industry’s elite.
The Chicago Tribune voted it the number one web award in the world beating Youtube and the Webbys and describing it as what the “…Oscar is to film excellence.” FWA is the most visited website award program in the history of the Internet and is followed by most of the online world’s industry. FWA state that the award “…showcases future thinking, progressively designed sites who use cutting edge technology, together with inspirational ideas, that lead the way for future generations.”

The team worked hundreds of hours on this website and the fact that it will bring massive worldwide attention to this great New Zealand band just sweetens the deal. It just shows New Zealand can take on the biggest web and interactive companies in the World!”

Resn Creative are the first New Zealand based company to win an FWA Site of the Day. Past winners of the FWA have been the biggest web development firms and advertising agencies in the World including Big Spaceship, Group 94 and North Kingdom. Minuit’s website has already won the 2007 Pixel Awards - Music category and was also awarded Runner Up for Pixels Awards Best in Show. The website won bronze at the Designers Institute of New Zealand 2007 Best Awards Interactive Category.
Apart from their traditional clients, Resn Creative have created websites for some of New Zealand’s top music acts including The Black Seeds, Liam Finn and Luke Buda. These sites have been hugely successful with The Black Seeds (www.theblackseeds.com) website being nominated for the coveted SXSW Web Awards Music Category and Liam Finn (www.liamfinn.co.nz) receiving over a quarter of a million visitors within one week to his viral music game.
