Threading her experiences of navigating the world in her early twenties in a collection of forward-thinking pop tracks, the debut record is a remarkable arrival which truly affirms Josie's status as one of the country's top artists to watch.
Teased by singles Victor Hotel, Más Que Nada, Deep Space, Never Die and Just Fumez, the record highlights Josie's inquisitive and eclectic approach to pop music, spanning soulful slow-jams, house-tinged anthems and jagged electronic production. It's an approach that has situated Josie firmly on industry and fan radars alike, recently landing a support slot for Crooked Colours, while previously playing shows with Tash Sultana and Chelsea Jade.
On the album, Josie shares; "Paint Me How You Need Me is about me navigating and situating myself in my late teens to early 20’s. It covers people pushing their expectations onto me as I decide to pursue music. It shares some of my first experiences with grief and fear and love. It also touches on my journey with depression and anxiety and how healing is a non-linear process."
