Q: What's the common thread between David Mulcahy (JPSE, Superette), John Billows (The Renderers, The Ether, Dark Matter) and Mark Whyte (Into The Void)?
A: They've converged to form Christchurch Ōtautahi trio MEDaL, and are releasing their second album Sequela today, Friday November 11th.
MEDaL would seem to have friends in high places, as today's WORDLE is also celebrating the album's release! (We kid you not).
MEDaL says about the new album:
"Sequela, noun. "A result or condition that follows from a disease or illness."
Sequela follows our first album, Replica – but who can't see our world now without considering what follows physical and information disease? Though we will always see beauty and have fun.
Expect bouncy post-punk tunes, deep Moog synths and Krautrock, along with big heaviness. Seeing the world from a viewpoint that resists."

So far MEDaL has released two songs and videos from Sequela, with the third track, UFO Radio, out now. Dave Mulcahy (who creates all of MEDaL's videos) has also made a great new clip for UFO Radio. Fans of vintage sci-fi movies – you will like it a lot.
