The world got its first taste of Poetik on his three independently released street albums The Ambassador, For The Ville and Poetikly Done. His Hamofied EP debuted at #1 on iTunes New Zealand Hip-Hop chart in 2017, followed by Hamofied 2 at number 2 in the Top 20 NZ Albums in 2019. Poetik’s debut album Poetik Justice reached number 1 in the official Top 20 NZ Albums in the first week of launch in 2021.
Hamofied Tre - releasing November 11 - is the third instalment of the Hamofied series and features nine tracks with production from American and New Zealand based producers including Bass 685, Umu Beats, Kaydub and Sonny Bishop.
The EP is a reflection of who Poetik is - the family man and the independent artist combine, giving a front row seat into everyday life of a rapper with a young family and the chapters that come together along the journey.
For My City 2, the lead single from the EP, is a testament to the cause of an independent artist. Still hustling CDS out of the trunk, talking to the streets to find out what is important and walking in your own shoes…”a man does not go through life on another man’s coat tails”.
Hamofied Tre features up and coming hood stars, Stallyano and Godfamilyhustle in We Made It and K.Kila in Mindgames. Stanley T comes through on the last track, Take It Easy and a new soul in the scene Hari, mesmerises with her beautiful stylings on track Demons, that also features the wordsmith Sefa M. Sam V and Poetik resurrect 90's RnB vocals and stale Gangsta rap raw lyrics fusion on Smash Therapy.
From reflections to struggles, actions to consequences, the darkness and the light, Hamofied Tre brings light to breaking negative cycles, pushing through and rising up through raw conversations.
