Carb on Carb are an emo band from many places but who now live in Whanganui. Known for their relentless touring throughout Australasia pre-Covid, Nicole (guitar, vocals) and James (drums) have probably crashed at your house at some point (thanks again!). Emerging from sabbatical, you can expect the signature tangled, emotional punk of their first two albums Carb on Carb and For Ages as well as a preview of their third album due out late 2023.
The tour celebrates the release of Grounded, (out March 31st) the first single from that forthcoming album. Written deep in the Auckland Covid lockdowns, the song is about feeling like your life is on pause, but not knowing if you are ready for it not to be. Featuring the band’s now signature clear and open production by Harry Lilley & Chris Teti, the single shrugs off that feeling and puts the band back on track.
“For a guaranteed evening of big feelings” - UTR
“Yelling the words…seems like a lot of fun, especially if you do it in a New Zealand accent” - Stereogum
