Music News - Georgia Lines' Intros is Back for 2023

Georgia Lines' Intros is Back for 2023

14 March 2023 - 0 Comments

After a successful first season, Georgia Lines' Intros is back for 2023 and continues to break ground for female and non-binary artists in the music industry.

Episode one features a kōrero with folk artist Jazmine Mary. The songwriter and producer sat down with Georgia to chat about navigating the NZ music industry, being an independent artist and concludes with a hauntingly beautiful guitar-led rendition of her track Move Me.

Episode two features a kōrero with Tāmaki Makaurau pop artist Gracie Moller - chatting about growing up with a musical family, finding support and prioritising your wellbeing, and concludes with a stunning acoustic rendition of her track 'mess for you'.

Intros is a series hosted by the talented musician, Georgia Lines, who is on a mission to showcase and promote her favourite female and non-binary artists in the music industry. In an industry that has been historically dominated by men, Intros is breaking the mold by providing a platform for female and non-binary artists to share their unique perspectives and talent.

This show features a relaxed sit-down kōrero with these artists, where Georgia explores their creative journey, the story behind their music, and the inspiration that led to the creation of their songs, alongside having important conversations around navigating the industry and tools they have learnt along the way. By focusing on female and non-binary artists, Intros is shining a light on voices that are often underrepresented in the mainstream music industry.

Each episode of Intros is dedicated to one specific song from the artist, providing an opportunity for viewers to get an in-depth understanding of the track's lyrics, melody, and production. Georgia delves into the details of the creative process, discussing everything from songwriting techniques and instrumentation to the emotions and experiences that influenced the song's composition.

After the interview, the artist takes to the stage to perform a live rendition of their song, allowing the audience to experience their talent firsthand. The live performance segment of the show is a unique feature that sets Intros apart from other music interview shows, giving viewers the chance to appreciate the artists' music in a raw and intimate setting.

Intros is an exciting initiative that highlights the work of talented female and non-binary artists who may not always get the recognition they deserve. By creating a platform for these artists, Georgia Lines is breaking down barriers and amplifying the voices of a diverse range of musicians. The show provides a window into the creative process and life of these artists, making it a must-watch for anyone who wants to learn more about the music industry and the amazing talent that exists within it.
