Both singles are now available for streaming and download on all major digital music platforms.
Smoked Paprika consists of Ephraim Frame (electric guitar), Ollie Neil (guitar, sax, vocals), Arlo Oliver (keyboard/synth), Josh Hogarty (drums), and Sage Garrett (bass), all of whom are year-13 students from Hillcrest High School who share a passion for music. According to Ephraim Frame, performing together and joining a musical community, such as a band, provides the opportunity to share one's passion with others and encourages collaboration and skill-building.
Zac & Maddison, on the other hand, are a joining of Zac Griffith (18, past Garin College student) and Maddison Connor (15, Waimea College), who have been performing together for several years. The duo started as fellow competitors in the under 13
age category at country music singing contests around the South Island before joining forces. Maddison noted that writing songs together for Smokefreerockquest was a whole new amazing experience, and they look forward to making original music part
of their future.
Both Smoked Paprika and Zac & Maddison have showcased their musical talent and potential through their win at Smokefreerockquest 2022, and their debut singles are a testament to their dedication and hard work.
