Dead Favours today announce part 2 of their album Riffing & Yelling, featuring their new single Chase The Sun and their hit single SOS, is out today. This is the second half of the album that earnt them the Best Rock Artist nod at the 2021 Aotearoa Music Awards. Recorded across two locations, the legendary Revolver Studios in Waiuku and Six60’s own studio in Auckland, Dead Favours once again teamed up with Chris Mac (Six60) as producer and Neil Baldock as engineer.
“We are absolutely stoked to be finally releasing this collection of songs. We started working on this two-part album three years ago. The idea was to release the two halves in succession to have some momentum, but shortly after the first half we had a major lockdown which threw everything off track. Seeing as we were already behind schedule we decided to really take our time with the creative process, and we really feel it paid off. We wanted to make it different, to be more adventurous and just try things and see where they went. It feels so damn good to finally share!” states Dead Favours drummer Charlie Smith.
The band featuring Steriogram’s Jared Wrennall (frontman), Skinny Hobos Alex Elvis (bass), Charlie Smith (drummer) and Kyle Wetton (guitarist) will be bringing their new album to New Zealand stages, supported by an epic line up of Kiwi artists including Ekko Park, Volts, Animalhead, Dolphin Friendly, Fyveyes, Voodoo Bloo and more.
