Sorry (UK) announce eclectic lineups for debut headline New Zealand tour kicking off next month

20 September 2023 - 0 Comments

I OH YOU and Frontier Touring are excited to announce critically acclaimed British indie band Sorry have added a stellar lineup of special guests to their Australia & New Zealand tour kicking off next month.

Joining them across their five headline shows in Auckland and Wellington are:

Elliott Dawson (playing Wellington) plays angry art rock inspired by post-rock and South London jazz, striking a contrast between the eloquent and unhinged. Fresh off the back of the release of his debut album Hang Low, Elliott Dawson returns in 2023 with a bundle of new material, slated for release in early 2024, following a harrowing summer of festivals. Dawson has recently supported British absurdists Black Midi, and Wellington favourites Revulva and Wiri Donna. Dawson is joined by his band of Pōneke dream people – Olivia Campion, Harrison Scholes, Reuben Topzand, and Elizabeth Hocking.

Ringlets (playing Auckland) have been supplying Auckland locals with the most reliable Post-Punk Equipment (P.P.E.) in the upper North Island. With a highly durable, machine-tested rhythm section (A. Poulsen + A. Grey) and two of Auckland’s leading lyrical & melodic consultants (L. Towers + L. Reynolds), Ringlets are fast building a solid reputation. The group’s self-titled debut record commits to a punchy, boisterous sound from the first note. Produced by De Stevens (Marlin’s Dreaming) and Ringlets themselves, the impressive songbook certainly has the potential to shine in 2023’s booming alternative sphere. One thing is certain: Ringlets can only remain our best kept secret for so long.

Sorry - Asha Lorenz (vox/guitar), Louis O’Bryen (vox/guitar), Lincoln Barrett (drums), Campbell Baum (bass)and Marco Pini (electronics) - have created their own distinctive musical world, one that draws together a shared passion for lo-fi sounds of grunge, trap, and shoegaze. As one of the UK’s hottest rising outfits, 2022’s Anywhere But Here was described by NME as “frequently taking sudden turns that you don’t see coming”.

Kicking off their Anywhere But Here World Tour in late 2022 - their biggest tour to date - performing sold-out shows across Europe and the UK as well as debut performances in the US and Canada, now, they’ll will visit Australia and New Zealand for the first time.

A band with a devoted following on both sides of the Atlantic, don’t miss UK band Sorry + special guests this month!
