The tour will be momentous for Christchurch-born, Auckland-based
Bridges; taking in two cities that have shaped her as a person, musician and ultimately the music on the forthcoming EP.
“I’m feeling pretty emotional about going back to perform in my hometown of Christchurch,”
says Bridges. “It’s been about a decade since I left; I haven’t performed there since I was a soloist, performing as an acoustic singer/songwriter”.
“I’m so excited to bring my band to the beautiful city where I grew up, and
experience what is currently feeling like a full circle moment! I moved to Auckland to figure out who I am as a musician, which has been documented in my EP Twenty Something. It's wild to be going back to perform
it at the other end of the decade; sharing everything I’ve learnt and who I’ve become.”
The tour announcement comes ahead of her anticipated debut EP, Twenty Something, which will feature her latest release okay, alright,
as well as previous releases Gone and Pills. Two new tracks will be unveiled upon release, including the NZOA-supported single Misfits; tying together the EP, which
is packed with stories and themes from this pivotal decade; creating a sort of sonic time capsule.
Bridges, who recently opened for Aussie breakthrough band Teenage Dads at Auckland’s Tuning Fork, is
a 'not to be missed' live act. Local supports are yet to be announced - stay tuned!
