After two years of the formative pandemic spent ‘happily stranded’ on tour in New Zealand, Good Habits return to their Antipodean second home for a mighty tour that includes WOMAD, Port Fairy Festival, and supporting Tiki Taane (Trio’s Garden Bar, Rarotonga in Dec 2023), in anticipation of their new album release Quarter-Life, due out in May 2024.
In the past year, after leaving NZ, Good Habits have performed at world famous festivals around Europe including Glastonbury (UK), Elfia (NL) and Cambridge Folk Festival (UK), to name a few.
Their award-winning, genre-fusing sound has received international critical acclaim in the short 4 years they have been performing. Composed of Bonnie Schwarz (cello + vocals) and Pete Shaw (accordion), the pair mix virtuosic musicianship and vocal harmony with vivid storytelling, drawing on their diverse musical tastes and weaving them into an action-packed narrative of folky goodness.
Whilst ‘happily stranded’ in Aotearoa over 2020+21 due to the pandemic, their touring in NZ was nonstop, including performances at the country’s biggest festivals: Cuba Dupa, NZ Festival of Lights, and Lunasa.
Their “captivating” debut album, Going For Broke, recorded in Paekakariki, received glowing international coverage with FRUK describing their breath-taking live shows as “impossible to resist”.
Amanda Palmer - ‘’you want to wrap this duo around you like a warm blanket’’
Fat Freddy's Drop - “Good Habits serve up strong musicality with an appealing vocal. Fat Freddy's Drop enjoying a bit of Alt-folk!”
Tom Robinson (BBC Radio 6) - “Musicianship at its 21st century best."

With their new album on the horizon, it's an exciting time for Good Habits as they’re now working with Pulson Management and looking towards their biggest album project yet.
Their forthcoming album, Quarter Life was produced by Heron Music and awarded funding by The Alan Surtees Foundation and Help Musicians UK; it was mastered by Katie Tavini (Emeli Sandé, Nadine Shah, Arlo Parks).
The album is an “existentially optimistic” look at their current life in their mid-twenties. To address the gender imbalance in the UK folk scene, they collaborated with 5 exciting female and non-binary contemporary folk musicians to create an album that pushes the boundaries of folk and genre fusion.
While on tour in NZ, Good Habits will be releasing a single each month off the new album, in the lead-up to their Quarter Life album release due out in May 2024.
