More than 30 years since Greg Johnson first made his mark on the New Zealand music scene with his breakthrough single Isabelle, his melodic, story-telling songs have continued to hit the radios, charts and hearts of listeners nationwide.
Music lovers can look forward to hearing his iconic songs like Don’t Wait Another Day, Liberty, Save Yourself, It's Been So Long, Now The Sun is Out, Looking Out On Monday, I Got Opinions and many more.
Greg has an enviable songbook to choose from - a collection of songs which has seen him recognised with two Aotearoa NZ Music Tui Awards, nine top 20 albums, and a very loyal fanbase.
Says Greg: “I’m really looking forward to heading back home for nationwide shows and that beautiful late summer sunshine. As the crow flies, it’s 1000 miles from our northern most concert in Kerikeri to our southern most in Dunedin, and so we’ll relish all the adventures in between, on our 1000 Miles tour.”
Accompanying Greg on all dates is guitarist Ben King, with Wayne Bell (drums) and Mark Hughes (bass) performing on selected dates.
The 1000 Miles tour starts on Friday March 15 in Kerikeri, then Greg will perform in Whangārei, Howick, Nelson, Christchurch, Timaru, Dunedin, Hamilton, at the Waiheke Jazz Festival, and he ends the tour in Auckland on Saturday 30 March,
Greg will perform songs from right across the 12 albums of his career, including new favourites from recently-recorded material in Los Angeles. The first single from the new recordings, Rooster Tail, will be released in December.
