Adam Tukiri Releases His Final Album - 'Babe'

24 November 2023 - 0 Comments

With the release of his two EP’s 23 and 46, as well as the final release for the Valleyside Boys before their hiatus, Adam releases his final album Babe. This album journeys through his separation from his partner and the journey of understanding himself as he continues to navigate life as a dad.

“It is about a big change in my life and the weird experience of learning about what love is. I made this with the intention of it being my final album, as there’s just too much work for me to take on now. I will very likely still release singles and EPs, but yeah this is it for albums. I made it on a little 2-seater couch and recorded the majority whilst lying on the floor, for some reason”.

Like most of Adam’s work, the album is very personal. If you go back to his 2021 release Son, the first under the name change, then listen through to now, you experience life with Adam. There is no vagueness about it. Like most of his music it is raw and to the point, even including little voice notes and sounds of his son. This is how he communicates.

”Wanna get to know me, that’s what Bandcamp’s for” - Presumptions

Though Adam does a lot of the work on his album himself, he has teamed up with other musicians and producers on this album:

Back and A Bit were produced by Christoph El Truento, known for his solo work and work with artists such as Team Dynamite and Avantdale Bowling Club.

Off Myself was produced by Hor. who is a part of the group Valleyside Boys with Adam and has worked with him on past projects.

In The Next Life was produced by Jay Knight who has also worked with Adam in the past

Get 3 Know You features vocals from local artist Fable who recently released his new single Please!.

Adam Tukiri is a rapper and producer from South Auckland, who created quite a name for himself under his previous moniker Dharmarat. Having changed to use his real name, he chooses to mark the changes in his life and music with a fresh start and run of projects. There is just as much range in his discography as he has projects under his belt, having released about 22 projects as Dharmarat, if you include his work with his group Valleyside Boys.

Adam Tukiri is letting the music speak for itself as he grows and steps a bit away from the music and further in to the role of being a dad.
