"Repairs blend their noise rock foundation with sharp lyricism, showcasing their prowess in their craft. The driving force behind the band's sound is both loud and immediate, underscoring the punk rock essence which permeates their songwriting." Destroy//Exist
Fresh from the success of their SRN and Radioscope chart-topping track Map, Territory, Tāmaki Makaurau noise trio Repairs are back with follow-up single Mosaic.
Over guitars distorted with synth effects, guitarist Martin Phillips delivers biting lyrics punctuated by hi-hats. Reflecting on having “been here before”, Mosaic is an angry missive to watching the same cycles repeat themselves and the turning back of gains made.
“You can hear common themes across both singles so far, and I think it definitely gives a flavour of what’s to come on the new album. Our writing is quite personal, so anxiety and imposter syndrome features quite a lot, but also the state of the world in general,” says Phillips.
Both Mosaic and Map, Territory will also feature on Repairs’ sophomore album, announced for release on Wednesday 17 April 2024.
Disappointing Sequel sees the band refine and expand their sound from their debut album Repeat, Repeat, while remaining true to their DIY roots. Mixed by Martin Phillips and mastered by Rohan Evans (Wine Cellar, Arcade Recordings), the album will be available on limited edition translucent blue vinyl as well as all streaming platforms. Vinyl pre-orders will be available through Flying Out.
