2023 Breakthrough Artist Of The Year ARIA Award Winners Teenage Dads return today with their brand new single Weaponz, and the exciting announcement of their biggest ever Australian and New Zealand headline tour. Hitting the ground running in 2024, Teenage Dads have been teasing the new single over their Aussie run of shows with Laneway Festival and Tasmania’s Party In The Paddock over the last few weeks.
Taking a slight sonic detour for their first release of 2024, on their new single Weaponz the breakthrough act deliver a punchy, Strokes-esque, alt-rock anthem that perfectly captures the high-energy chaos expected at any of their live shows. “Weaponz is about finding personal empowerment through creative expression,” Teenage Dads explain. “It can take a lot of strength to get what you want and sometimes you need to take a bullet (or wield a bazooka) to see your vision come to life.”
Gearing up for their biggest year yet, Teenage Dads have also announced their biggest ever Australian and New Zealand headline over August and September of this year playing their biggest venues yet across Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Tasmania as well as shows in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch. Joining the band as a special guest will be Melbourne singer-songwriter Phoebe Go, and Adelaide rising star Aleksiah.

A huge year for the Mornington Peninsula act, 2023 saw the band play over 94 shows globally across 10 different countries, and 3 different continents, including multiple sold-out headline shows across the country (and more than 10,000 tickets sold nationally!) and one electrifying Splendour In The Grass debut on the Amphitheatre stage. The band also joined the line-ups of Groovin The Moo, Yours & Owls and the inaugural SXSW Sydney. Teenage Dads’ 2023 Midnight Driving EP debuted at #2 in the ARIA Album Charts, and notably the band wrapped up their biggest year to date taking home the 2023 Michael Gudinkski Breakthrough Artist ARIA Award.
More recently, following on from their 2022 debut in triple j’s Hottest 100 with Teddy, Teenage Dads took out three places in the most recent countdown with their singles Speedracer and Midnight Driving, and their cover of The Buggles Video Killed The Radio Star.
With no signs of slowing down Teenage Dads have hit the ground running in 2024, taking their out-of-this-world live act on around the country with Laneway Festival and Party In The Paddock, and from next week will kick off a huge international headline tour playing shows across the US and Canada in March, and the UK and Europe in May and June of this year. Teenage Dads will also be playing their first-ever international festivals with performances at the UK’s Tunes In The Dunes, A Stones Throw Festival, Block Party Festival and Italy’s Fans Out Festival, as well as New Zealand’s Snow Machine later this year.
