Te Whanganui-a-Tara based trio Search For Yeti are proud to announce the release of What You Mean To Me, the second single from their upcoming debut album.
Whereas their first single Red was atmospheric and moody, What You Mean To Me is the band having fun — bringing joy to the ears and a smile to the face, with a love story packaged into a short sharp shot of power pop.
The song is accompanied by a video of quirkiness and fur-filled charm created and shot in Tāmaki Makaurau by the multi-talented José Barbosa.
The single is also being released to spearhead a crowdfunding campaign through Pledge Me, with the band’s goal of completing the full album by mid-2024. Putting out two very different singles in advance of the album highlights not only the breadth and depth of the band but also how, even with this range, there is an intangible ‘Search For Yeti sound’. The Pledge Me campaign will help the band with funding the recording and mixing by esteemed producer Toby Lloyd (Tiny Triumph Recordings), and mastering by Grammy nominated mastering engineer Robin Schmidt, to create an album of genuine international standard that will be released both on streaming and vinyl.
The band are celebrating the single’s release with a mini-tour of the Lower North Island in April alongside Auckland jangle-pop masters Cowboy Dan.
What You Mean To Me is out now on major streaming platforms.
