Aotearoa’s best kept secret, Snakebone, release debut single 'Femi'

14 June 2024 - 0 Comments

Hailing from Te Whanganui a tara, Snakebone are an instrumental trio composed of Chris Armour on Guitar, Thomas Frirggens on Drums, and Dayle Jellyman on Organ and Bass.

Snakebone’s debut single Femi offers listeners a guitar driven melody supported by a heavy hitting hip-hop groove, all cocooned in a sonic cushion of keys tones, and percussive syncopations. The influence is honest, drawing on the works of modern musical pioneers such as Khurungbin and Daniel Villarreal.

Accompanying the release is a unique video pulled together from clips of an early documentary named ‘Wheels over Africa’. Images of market scenes and desert landscapes provide a cinematic narrative to the musical journey Snakebone rides through their song Femi.

Femi is set to be released on Friday June 14th through Meow. Snakebone will be performing live at Wellington's popular venue the Rogue and Vagabond on Thursday June 20th to celebrate the release of their new music.
