Last month Tāmaki-based post-punk quartet Ringlets unveiled their first new music in over a year, the boisterous new-wave anthem New Life, Listen Here. Praised by the likes of Rolling Stone AU/NZ and The Listener upon its release, now the band divulge an eccentric mixed-media video to match.
Edited by snot AKA Keria Paterson, the video features an array of footage captured across the bands various performances and recordings dating back to early 2023.
“After a busy percussive start that recalls the underrated English post-punk Duds, New Life explodes into a wonderful new wave style that vibrates with life - new life - and demands that you play it again immediately after one listen ends.” - Conor Lochrie, Rolling Stone AU/NZ.
New Life is also available now in-store and online as a limited edition 7” thanks to Leather Jacket Records and Flying Nun Records. New Life is nicely paired with an exclusive, vinyl-only b-side; the sardonic and brooding Scam Me, prised from the depths of Ringlet's shimmering unreleased catalogue. Purchase Here.
