Coterie release their new single One More Chance, featuring hip-hop phenomenon Savage, out now via Massive Records alongside the Official Music Video. The double-platinum selling band wrote and recorded One More Chance in Auckland with producer Josh Fountain (BENEE, TEEKS). Immediately thinking of Savage, they reached out to the icon and 24 hours later the track was complete.
Oozing guitar skanks and summer 'lax, the brothers are embracing chill with this mellow tune. Speaking to the song, Coterie explain:
“The song is about chillin on all that ‘you did this I did that’ to and fro of a relationship and just not pretending to be perfect.. everyone needs to ask for One More Chance every now and then..”
The new single comes hot on the heels of previous singles Paradise and Slice Of Heaven with Sir Dave Dobbyn; this month also sees Coterie hit the stage as the national support for Tones And I’s 10-date Australia & NZ tour.
Immersed in a world of surf and art, Coterie has crafted a unique blend of soulful rock-reggae music, elevated by impeccable four-part harmonies that will have you begging for more. In 2022, the brothers Tyler, Josh, Brandford & Conrad (Te Aupouri, Ngāpuhi & Ngāi Te Rangi) burst onto the New Zealand music scene with 2x platinum hit Cool It Down. The band went on to release their now Gold debut self-titled album that year. The record has accumulated over 17 million WW streams and spent an impressive 78 weeks in the NZ Top 20 album charts; achieving gold status for both Killing It Off and Six60 collab Always Beside You.
Savage firmly cemented his music royalty status when he became the first Aotearoa rapper to ever have commercial international breakthrough success with a platinum record in the US. His debut solo single Swing is 2x Platinum in NZ, 2x Platinum in the US, and Freaks was an instant global success with remixes featuring Soulja Boy and Pitbull seeing the song sell over 1.5 million units and reach double platinum status in the USA and 5x platinum in NZ.
One More Chance is out now and available on all streaming platforms.
