The band comprises members of the Tamaki music scene including Al Gallagher (of Nuggiez) on drums, Jimmy Coldham (of Coffin Club) on Vocals and guitar and Alex Ross-Smith (of Jang, Cootie Cuties, Cutshapez, Soul Stroke and Shotgun the Couch among others) on Bass and backing vocals.
The album was recorded and mixed by Martin Phillips (of Repairs, Nuggiez, God Bows to Math) at Creative House in Parnell in early 2024, and mastered by Nich Cunningham (of Tooms). The album contains elements of Post-hardcore, Metal and alternative influences. It also features additional guest vocals from Drew McCormack (Vocalist for Nuggiez) and Alanna Wolf (Vocalist of Hagseed).
The tracks deal with themes concerning social pressures, environments that can be negatively shaped by darker influences, the state of the world and those who have no control over what life they are born into, overcoming different afflictions while struggling to survive in a world in a steep decline.
All that being said BURDENZ want listeners to get their own interpretations from the album that reflect their own feelings and experiences, as well as resonate with those who appreciate heavy music.
The album is available on all streaming platforms Friday November 15th. Locked down to a sharp 27 minutes, we didn’t want to waste a second.
