This week's NME magazine in the UK reports that local 'overnight' rock stars The Datsuns set new marks in their deal with V2 Records by signing on the dotted line for a reputed £200,000.
That figure, for one album, is unheard for an 'unknown' band, says the magazine. A bidding war between labels commenced when The Datsuns played a series of incendiary shows in the UK in April. They return there in August to prepare for their album release in September.
Before then, however, they are off on a quick three-town trip in New Zealand
