The Squeeze season is coming to an end, and to celebrate what a great year it has been for New Zealand music, Squeeze held its very own Awards show, which was screened on TV on Sunday 18 August 02.
Everyone had the chance to vote for three People's Choice Awards including 'Best Band/Artist', 'Best Song/Track' & 'Best Music Video' via the Squeeze website.
In addition, Squeeze handed out awards for 'Best Album', 'Best Live Act' & 'Best New Act', with exclusive performances from the winners.
This show will be repeated on Thursday 22 August 02 @ 11:30pm.
The winners for the Squeeze 2002 Music Awards are as follows:
BEST MUSIC VIDEO:
The Black Seeds - 'Hey Son'
Second place went to Pacifier for 'Comfort Me' and third place went to Blindspott for 'S.U.I.T'
BEST NEW ACT:
8 Foot Sativa
BEST SONG/TRACK:
Minuit - 'Species II'
Second place went to Sommerset for 'Clutter' and third place went to Pacifier for 'Comfort Me'.
BEST LIVE ACT:
Sommerset
BEST BAND/ARTIST:
TrinityRoots
Second place went to Sommerset and third place went to Pacifier.
BEST ALBUM:
Deceptikonz - 'Elimination'
