19 June 2003 - 0 Comments

Venue: Paramount Theatre
Date: Tuesday 16 September 2003

Entries are being accepted NOW and will close on Monday 4 August.

It's that time of the year again - Radio Active 89Fm proudly announce the return of 'Handle The Jandal' music video awards!

Now in it's 4th year, Radio Active's 'Handle The Jandal' is fast becoming an institution for New Zealand music video making. Entries are open nationwide to anyone with a video for a song by a New Zealand musician or band of any musical genre. The catch - no government funding allowed!

The videos entered are made only with available resources, kiwi ingenuity and the old sniff of an oily rag! The results of this are truly astounding - this event never fails to entertain, inspire and help New Zealand filmmakers and musicians on their road to creative success.

In 2003 we return to The Paramount Theatre for the 'Handle The Jandal Music Video Awards', for the final showcase of the finest amateur music videos from all over Aotearoa. Here the audience will vote to decide who will receive the prestigious award of The Golden Jandal.

The 2002 winners were:

- JVC's Handle The Jandal 1st Prize - Olly Coleman for 'Waiting Feat. Lotus' by Rhian Sheehan.
- 1st Runner Up - Kate Logan and Tim Gordon for 'Littoral' by Hummel.
- 2nd Runner Up - Luke Savage for 'Trouble' by Dana Eclair.

While our panel of cine-muso-phile industry seasoned judges will decide the winners of the following specialised awards:

- Red Bull presents Best Handle The Jandal Concept
- Playstation 2 presents Best Handle The Jandal Animation
- Best Handle The Jandal Cinematography
- Best Handle The Jandal Editing
- Puma presents Best Shameless Use of Exploitative Tactics to promote band
- Oktobor presents Best Handle The Jandal Rising Star.

Entries are now open, please contact Radio Active 89FM for entry details.
