Auckland based rock group The Glocks are looking towards the release of their second studio album before year end 2013 with new lead singer Carl Hoggen.
Inspired by the recent success of their debut album Magpie Genocide both locally and on the international scene, the group is about to set foot into the studio for the production of album number two, and the boys are keen to provide their steadily growing fan base with more of the same 80’s and 90’s influenced guitar and drum sound – albeit with a new voice to lead the way.
Carl Hoggen has joined the band to add his wealth of experience up front. Looking for something extra to help propel them forward they are excited to show the world that Hoggen and his ‘Beatles meets Cobain’ sound is exactly the right instrument they were searching for.
Formed back in the summer of 2009 The Glocks has been a staple diet for live music aficionados and they have been progressively working on their sound, with a recent change being Phil Hardie replacing Scott Funnell late last year on Bass.
Mike Froger remains on Lead Guitar with Rob Vazey on Drums and he shares the simple memo from the band. “We can ensure our followers that we will never sit back on our laurels or relax on our performances, a new single called Seasons is already in the making”.
The band is also working on the addition of a female singer for the upcoming album and gigs, to add some punch to their already unique sound.
