The Bleeders may seem new to the scene but the band have been around for years in such luminary bands as DSM, Evil Priest, Malcontent, Smooth Jimmies, Kid Nuisance & AOV.
The Bleeders bring together an innovative sound, drawing on influences from Punk, Hardcore & Rock. They were described by Real Groove magazine thusly: "The Bleeders bring it straightest, but that's no diss. They've got something boiling inside 'em that needs getting out." And yep that's exactly what they have done since their impressive debut performance in Feb 2003. An attitude of "If we don't do it for ourselves, no one will" has seen them playing a string of dates around the Auckland and lower North Island, as well as securing support slots for Epitaph & Fat Wreck international recording artists Hot Water Music and Strung Out.
Right now the Bleeders are at work in post production of their debut release 'A Bleeding Heart EP' scheduled for release September/October 2003. The track "A Bleeding Heart" will have a video made for it as a result of winning Coke Launchpad. After the video is made and broadcast to New Zealand expect to see them on tour round the country. Check them out in the next issue of Rip It Up, due out the 1st October and keep watching Space on Friday's at 10.30pm to see them play live.
