The Silver Gymnasium is a firm nod to the past telling the childhood tale of its lead singer and songwriter Will Sheff, a self-described awkward, nearsighted, asthmatic kid growing up the small town of Meriden, New Hampshire Circa ‘86; and as such, the record captures not only his own autobiographical details, but also musical cues from the era. However far from living in the past, Okkervil River have gone on to release an abundance of supporting material to complement the release of The Silver Gymnasium;
There’s the 8-bit adventure game here (warning WAAAAYYYYY too fun, Mystery Girl must be a child of the 80's)
