The APRA Silver Scroll Award will be presented at an exclusive dinner at Auckland’s Town Hall on Tuesday 28 October. Its here finalists enjoy performances of their song, interpreted by their contemporaries, under the musical directorship of composer Victoria Kelly.
Four other awards will be presented on the night will be:
- The Most Performed Work in New Zealand Award
- The Most Performed Work Overseas Award
- The SOUNZ Contemporary Award
- Inaugural APRA Maioha Award for Maori Songwriters
The Silver Scroll Award has been presented to the industry since 1965 and this year 100 entries were received. The anonymous panel of judges consider creative distinction equally in the musical and lyrical content of the songs and commercial success is irrelevant.
