Stormporter announce March 10th release date for their much anticipated debut single, Find Yourself.
Produced by Kiwi legend, Ben King (Goldenhorse, Grand Rapids) - known for his uncanny ability to find the heart of a pop song - this soulful Indie pop-rock gem is sure to ear-worm it’s way across radio airwaves and into the lives of listeners.
Tim and Tones - two storytelling Brits who now call NZ home - pulled in some stellar musicians to help make some beautiful noise on the record. Matthias Jordan (Pluto, Gin Wigmore) stirs up a storm with some crazy big Hammond organ sounds; the sultry horn sounds of Haddon Smith (The Checks, Ruby Frost, Annah Mac) will caress and seduce you; while, Motown inspired drumming by Adam Tobeck (Jesse Sheehan) will have you groovin’ and swaying in and out of rush hour traffic.
Graham Reid (music writer/critic), on hearing the song for the first time, had this to say: “Oh wow!!!!!!!!!!! I sincerely hope Find Yourself is getting all over rock radio here!”
Stormporter will officially launch on Saturday 22nd March at Nectar Bar in Auckland, when they bring their Indie pop swagger to the stage with full 6-piece band. Two more of NZs finest young things - The Map Room and Ezra Vine - will join Stormporter for what is guaranteed to be a musical feast.
New Zealanders are going to be hearing and seeing a lot of more of Stormporter and, it won’t be long before the storm moves off-shore onto the global stage. The long range forecast is for more musical storms; otherwise fine.
Available on iTunes and Bandcamp. The debut video will drop on day of release.
