Now, Frontier Touring is also delighted to announce that one of Australia’s most iconic rock outfits, Hunters & Collectors, will join the Stones at Auckland Mt Smart Stadium on the new date of Saturday 22 November 2014.

Visceral, mighty, and responsible for classics such as ‘Throw Your Arms Around Me’, ‘Talking to a Stranger’,‘ Holy Grail’, ‘When The River Runs Dry’, ‘Do You See What I See’, ‘Say Goodbye’ and countless others, Hunters & Collectors will bring their powerful, ferocious live show to New Zealand with the Stones this November. Having just farewelled thousands of Aussie fans at wineries across the country as recent headliners of the ‘A DAY ON THE GREEN’ concert series, last weekend the reformed Hunters & Collectors performed two final indoor theatre shows, culminating in a sold-out, emotional goodbye at Melbourne’s Palais Theatre.

Love for the reformed Hunters & Collectors came late last year with the release of the tribute album Crucible – The Songs of Hunters & Collectors (out now via Liberation).
The 30-track LP comprises 15 originals with 15 original Hunters recordings and saw some of the biggest names in contemporary music including Paul Kelly, The Avalanches, Birds Of Tokyo and The Living End cover their favourite song. They were joined on the disc by two long-time, international fans in Eddie Vedder & Neil Finn. On Crucible… the friends joined forces to perform arguably the Hunters’ most enduring classic, ‘Throw Your Arms Around Me’.

Whether you were too young to have witnessed them live or remember the band’s urgent sound, the extraordinary Hunters & Collectors legacy has never faded. Formed in 1981 in Melbourne and led by frontman/guitarist Mark Seymour, across 10 studio albums (such as 1986’s Human Frailty and 1989’s Ghost Nation) the ‘Hunnas’ became renowned the world over for their electrifying, sweat-soaked sound, built up over year upon year of gigs – almost 2,000 shows, in fact. They disbanded in 1998, later inducted into the ARIA Hall Of Fame in 2005.

Frontier Touring and Auckland Stadiums are set to meet huge fan demand by
installing extra seating at Mt Smart Stadium!

After tickets sold out to the Rolling Stones and both Eagles concerts, organisers
were prompted to work on a solution for fans who missed out.

The south stand will accommodate a further 6,000 people. The upper south
stand seats will have magnificent views facing the stage at the rear of the field.

Tickets for the new stand go on sale through Ticketmaster at
midday on Thursday 14th August and are specially priced!

Frontier Touring Managing Director Michael Gudinski said; “The demand for
tickets to both the Rolling Stones and the Eagles in New Zealand is
unprecedented. With no further shows possible we started looking at
production options that might increase capacity but had thought the numbers
would likely be minimal. When Auckland Stadiums suggested additional seats
we were thrilled – being able to accommodate a further 6000 fans per show
was beyond our wildest imaginings. Who would have thought the biggest
shows of the year could get any bigger!"
