2014 Taite Music Prize Nominee Shayna King is heading on tour with her band this New Zealand Music Month, to celebrate the success of her recently released debut album The Day Is Young.
Since picking up her first guitar at age six, King has built an inspired collection of original songs and a reputation for captivating live performances. Having recently played support for prestigious New Zealand Artist-Collective Fly My Pretties, UK Legend Nik Kershaw and Australia's Mark Wilkinson, she also performs as a full-time artist around Canterbury and will be bringing her mix of Acoustic-infused Americana songs on the road with her this May.
Says Graham Reid at Elsewhere Magazine: "There is a craftsperson at work. Memorable songs which err towards Alt.Country and Rock... and an undeniably strong voice which could cross between an astute indie audience and mainstream."
