Music News - APRA Farewells Mike Chunn

APRA Farewells Mike Chunn

23 October 2003 - 0 Comments

After eleven years as Director of NZ operations, Mike Chunn has decided to retire from APRA at the end of October.

Mike says: I have found my years at APRA to be challenging, exciting and ultimately rewarding. It has been a real pleasure working for the country music writers and to have done so with a team that has committed themselves as much as they did. I have no specific plans for the future except to say I will work in or with the music industry in some capacity.

Adds APRA Writer-Director Arthur Baysting: "It is no coincidence that Mike Chunn's decade at APRA has witnessed the coming of age of the New Zealand music industry. Others will claim credit but the industry's rebirth is due in large part to the work of the musicians and songwriters.

They, of course, are APRA, and through this golden age Mike Chunn has been the boss".

Anthony Healey will succeed Mike in the position of Director, NZ Operations as from 1 November.
