Shihad To Rock Christchurch And TV

28 July 2014 - 0 Comments

Hot on the heels of their new album release on August 8, Kiwi rockers Shihad are set to make New Zealand music history with a broadcast event of epic proportions.

Presented by SKY Arena, the iconic Kiwi band will rock Christchurch in a good way when they perform an exclusive one-off show Shihad Live at Horncastle Arena on Friday 12 September.

Cantabrians won't be the only ones in on the action however. In a first for New Zealand, fans around the country will also be able to tune in live via SKY Arena pay-per-view.

Performing their new album FVEY in its entirety, as well as hits from their back catalogue of monster albums including Churn, Killjoy, Shihad, The General Electric, Pacifier and Love Is The New Hate, Shihad are looking forward to playing the entire album LIVE straight off the bat, the way it's meant to be heard - loud and heavy.

"I cannot wait to play the new stuff and in one of our favorite cities. It's gonna be explosive!" says Shihad frontman Jon Toogood.

With Shihad's new album FVEY out August 8 and no other shows or tour dates announced as yet, fans won't want to miss this unique opportunity to see New Zealand's greatest rock band make music history.

To contribute to the Christchurch rebuild, the band say they'll be donating their share of pay-per-view proceeds to the Christchurch Earthquake Appeal.

Entry to the Christchurch event is open to all Kiwis with the 3,000-odd tickets being given away via lottery draw. To be in with a chance to win tickets, fans must register on the SKY Arena website or Facebook page or listen to radio partner Hauraki who will also be giving away copies of the band's new album.

Thanks to SKY Arena, fans around the country will also be able watch the concert live from the comfort of their own home for just $19.95 or at their favourite local bar.

"Since 1993 when the four Kiwi lads laid down their first studio album, Shihad have evolved to become the nation's most electrifying and devastating live band," says SKY Arena General Manager George Macfarlane.

"It's not hard to imagine groups of Shihad fans everywhere from Russell to Invercargill, gathered around their flatscreen rocking out to their favourite Shihad tracks and being blown away by their new album."

Whether you're in the audience, at a bar or watching from the comfort of your own home, don't miss this opportunity to see Shihad Live in Christchurch, Friday 12 September 2014.

Head to the website or Facebook page to enter for your chance to win a double pass. Or get a group of friends together and watch the concert from home for just $19.95.
