The brand new 10-track LP was released independently in New Zealand through EWH’s own label Every Waking Hour and worldwide via The Roots’ Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson’s label Okayplayer in collaboration with UK imprint Somethinksounds. Love Can Prevail is “a mash of classic soul and futuristic sounds anchored by dynamic lyricism and a degree of musicianship that will only help to cement the project as a sonic tour de force” – Okayplayer.
Demand for their live show has seen EWH perform in 14 countries, including recent performances at The Roots Picnic in Philadelphia, with Kimbra in Los Angeles (May 2014), and at renowned L.A. nights Low End Theory & Funkmosphere, as well as appearing at festivals such as Glastonbury, Dour, Sonar, Sziget, SXSW, Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide and New York’s CMJ.
Upping the ante, EWH are currently touring the U.S.A in support of the album with stops in Miami, New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco, before bringing it all home!
The live show promises to see the genre-smashing Kiwi duo delving into the boundless pool of left-field R&B and otherworldly influence.
