WELLINGTON INTERNATIONAL UKULELE ORCHESTRA
FIRST AUCKLAND SHOW SELLS OUT!
SECOND CHRISTCHURCH SHOW ADDED!
Making great Kiwi songs even more singalongable, the wildly popular Wellington International Ukulele Orchestra today announce their first Auckland show at Civic Theatre’s Wintergarden has SOLD OUT!
They have also just added a second Christchurch Show on the 14th November at the Roy Stokes Hall in New Brighton, a venue chosen by the band to celebrate the irrepressible community of Christchurch’s Eastern suburbs.
The tour is to celebrate their first ever full-length album – Be Mine Tonight – due for release on iTunes and via all good record stores on November 7th. As a special sneak peek into the fabulousness to be found on the album, three songs - Be Mine Tonight, Today Is Gonna Be Mine and Wake Up - are now available to stream on the Orchestra’s website.
When fans pre-order the album from iTunes they will instantly receive the band’s versions of popular Kiwi hits Wake Up and Be Mine Tonight as a thank you for their fantastic taste in music, followed with David Kilgour’s anthemic Today Is Gonna Be Mine, which will be delivered on October 31st.
The band’s stage show is famous for madcap hilarity and spontaneous audience participation. Behind the hijinks is a finely-tuned musical group who have truly cemented their place on New Zealand’s entertainment scene. Their unique sound – a choir of gorgeous voices set to magnificent ukulele riffs and licks – is now in hot demand worldwide.
