Devilskin Having A Platinum Year!

11 March 2015 - 0 Comments

Devilskin, New Zealand’s most explosive rock band are continuing their exponential success in 2015.

Devilskin’s debut album We Rise is now certified Platinum. They are the first ‘new artist’ in 2015 to reach this significant milestone, with sales exceeding 15,000 albums. This is an incredible feat in this new age of music. The last NZ rock band to achieve a Platinum album was Shihad in 2013 with their album Killjoy which took 18 years from release to hit the milestone.

Devilskin comment “It’s been an insane 8 months for us since we released We Rise and the craziness continues! We are all very proud of our accomplishments and especially proud of our amazing fans and supporters, because without them we would not be doing any of this. We truly feel privileged to be where we are today and to have the honour of a Platinum album is especially cool. Thank you so much to everyone that has been part of this ride!”

We Rise released on July 11, 2014 and went straight to the top of the charts remaining as the #1 Album and #1 Kiwi Artist Album for 3 weeks and achieving gold sales after only 2 weeks. After 34 weeks, We Rise remains in the top 30.

After a sell-out 20 date NZ album release tour and their headline Surrender Summer Tour in 2014 Devilskin will be taking their mesmerizing rock show to international audiences this year. They will headline 4 international show case gigs next month; the famous Borderline club in Soho London on April 15th, the International Rock Summit in Los Angeles on the 24th and 25th April as well as the world famous Whisky a Go Go on Sunset Strip West Hollywood on 29th April.

Devilskin have also received international acclaim alongside Start a Revolution music director Dimi Nakov have been nominated for 17 film festival awards in the music video category. Recently winning “The Rising Star Award” at the Canada Film Festival for Best Music Video directed by Dimi Nakov.

James Southgate from Music Management says “Devilskin have acknowledged their amazing fan base, I would like to pay my respect to Paul, Nail, Jennie and Nic for the enormous effort and commitment they have injected into the entire project; the music, the performances, the signing sessions, the photo ops the time to talk to anyone who asks. For certain members this represents a culmination of 30 years of hard work and it is only right they be recognised with Platinum album sales - the only NZ rock band to have that honour in many many years is truly well deserved.”

Devilskin are a four piece band from Hamilton New Zealand formed in June 2010. The band features the captivating Jennie Skulander on Vocals. Jennie's incredible voice sweeps from whisper to roar, rips with power, drips with melody and captivates with sincerity. Bassist Paul Martin and Nail on lead guitar are the red bearded ‘evil twins’ and they electrify with powerful, truculent bass coupled with searing guitar riffs. Nic Martin’s spectacular drumming and driving beat lays the foundation for a gig not to be forgotten.
