Recorded over the span of 3 years, The Coral
Reef EP combines Mimsy Cable’s love of Pop songwriting with Jazz flourishes and
Classical intricacies. Delivered in Mimsy’s warm and captivating voice, the
songs of The Coral Reef EP are at once tenderly felt and intimate whilst
being panoramic and awash with a lush sonic palette.
Recorded and produced with David Parker (Great North, Chelsea Jade)
and Tom Healy (Popstrangers, Paquin), the EP also features the
swirling and propulsive rhythm section of Alex Freer (Artisan Guns) and
Cass Basil (Tiny Ruins).
The Coral Reef EP will be available from Monday 20th July, at: mimsycable.bandcamp.com
After a long hiatus from the stage, Mimsy will play her first show in several
years to celebrate the release of the EP at Auckland's iconic venue The Wine
Cellar on Sunday 19th July, 2015. Mimsy and band, including members of Tiny
Ruins, Paquin and Electro-Pop Chanteuse Jessie Cassin, will present The
Coral Reef EP in full with support from Auckland based band, Herriot Row.
