Sol3 Mio will once again
celebrate the festive season with two very special Christmas In The Vines
shows, returning to Auckland’s iconic Villa Maria Winery and adding a show at
the stunning Waipara Hills Winery in Canterbury.
The inaugural Christmas In The Vines show with Sol3 Mio at Villa Maria last
year was a joyous occasion. Over 7000 fans joined the opera sensations in a
celebration of all things festive. The seasonal themed show included opera
arias, standards, traditional songs, Christmas carol favourites and
performances by special guests. One of those performances was
particularly special, with tenor Pene Pati proposing to his star soprano
girlfriend (now fiancé) Amina live on stage in a magical moment that won’t soon
be forgotten.
Christmas in the Vines 2015 is set to be just as memorable. Sol3 Mio will
perform everyone’s favourite seasonal sing-alongs, a selection of new material
and a host of hits from their debut album. With both shows now set to be
an annual Christmas event, Sol3 Mio are more excited than ever for the festive
season.
“We love Christmas, especially the music, and that we will get to enjoy it with
our fans this year as we did in 2014” says Pene. “Last year’s show in Auckland
was so special and we know that this year is going to be at least twice as good
because we will also play in Canterbury. We can’t promise another proposal, but
the shows will be special and we are thrilled to be celebrating Christmas with
everyone in two of New Zealand’s most beautiful and prestigious winery venues”.
Sol3 Mio’s live performances are unique, with Pene, his tenor brother Amitai
and their baritone cousin Moses Mackay putting on a show packed full of energy
and their trademark humour that perfectly complements their incredible voices.
Already one of New Zealand’s most successful and popular musical acts ever,
Sol3 Mio’s debut album spent sixteen consecutive weeks in the number one chart
position and has become one of the biggest selling albums in New Zealand music
history.
Joining Sol3 Mio on the bill will be songstress Anika Moa, another national
icon who blends a beautiful voice and songs with natural wit and humour.
As an added bonus for families, at Christmas in the Vines 2015, one child under
the age of 12 will be admitted free to the General Admission Field section when accompanied by one General Admission Field ticket-holding
parent or guardian. All patrons will require a ticket in the General Admission Seated area.
