Following the success of her debut album For The Weary Traveller released on July 31st, Holly Arrowsmith and band will perform at The Tuning Fork on the 5th September.
Reminiscent
of Americana folk greats Joni Mitchell and Bob Dylan, Arrowsmith's captivating,
earthy voice, will reach into the heart of humanity, and take you on
a journey through life's joys and struggles.
Born in the spacious desertscape of Santa Fe, New Mexico and raised in the
pristine surroundings of Queenstown, Holly’s songs encompass a reverence
for nature.
At just 21 years old, Holly has already showcased The New
Zealand Country Music Awards, Rhythm And Alps and Rhythm and
Vines. Last year she delivered a TEDx talk
on ‘Honest Music’, and has opened for internationally acclaimed folk
artist Rodriguez.
Holly plays The Tuning Fork alongside Melbourne based rock'n'roll troubadour Skyscraper Stan and Auckland based storysinger Tom Cunliffe. Tickets for the show are now available from Ticketmaster or ph 0800 111 999.
'A lovely voice and an ancient script add up to a stunning folk interpretation of New Zealand'. James Belfield, NZ Listener
'There’s something about Arrowsmith’s presence that is a different kind of alchemy altogether – in the unusual quality of her delivery and her enchanting voice, which swings between being light and free, before turning into a growl or lilting into a sweet head voice.' Fraser Browne, Second-hand News
