Amazing Enterprises is proud to bring Ruth Mundy, Flix Rose and Nicole Andrews together on September 13th at The Fringe Bar to present a night of soulful, honest, angelic and cathartic original music. Doors 8pm, first act 8.30pm. $10 on the door.
Ruth Mundy is a singer-songwriter from London, whose songs will simultaneously make you smile and break your heart. With influences such as Lily Allen, Laura Marling and Regina Spektor, Ruth combines frank lyrics with gorgeous melodies. Having spent the last few years playing at various venues and festivals across the UK, Ruth is currently in New Zealand, recording her debut album and performing in some of Wellington's best loved institutions, including The Matterhorn, The Southern Cross, and The Fringe Bar.
Nicole Andrews is an indie singer and pianist from Portland Oregon, now based in Wellington. Her music has been described as raw and beautifully cathartic with haunting vocals and dark piano driven compositions. Nicole’s music expresses a vulnerability and an edge rarely found in an alternative artist, which has garnered the support of New Zealand performers such as David Long from The Mutton Birds, Andrew Bain from Fur Patrol, Dan Ryland from Odessa and Sorceress and Thomas Voyce from Rhombus.
In 2015, Nicole released her eclectic debut album, In the Shallows; a collection of introspective songs with echoes of Tori Amos, PJ Harvey and Massive Attack.
Flix Rose's Alternative Indie Folk style combines angelic vocals with both ukulele and guitar. You may have seen Flix "up close" busking at a local food market or performing at the Wellington Folk Festival, Tora! Tora! Tora! Music Festival, and Meridian Gardens Magic. Flix is currently working on her debut album, due out early next year.
