American Stars Jack & Jack Announce New Zealand Show

22 October 2015 - 0 Comments

World-wide touring juggernaut R5 and dynamic US pop-rap duo Jack & Jack will be coming to Australia and New Zealand for a double headliner tour in January 2016.

Joining them will be special guests DJ Ryland and Australian pop-rock group At Sunset.

Both bands come from a new generation of musicians who connect directly with their fans over social media – between them, garnering almost 200 million plus views on YouTube.

Led by vocalist/rhythm guitarist Ross Lynch, R5 came together in 2009 and is comprised of Lynch's siblings Riker (bass/vocals), Rocky (lead guitar/vocals) and Rydel (keyboard/vocals) and Ellington "Ratliff" (drums/vocals). R5 has rapidly emerged as an electrifying new voice in the world of pop-rock. The band has moved one step closer to world domination having played over 200 shows, in 23 countries, to over 400,000 fans, and releasing their sophomore album, Sometime Last Night, which debuted #1 on the Pop Album chart, and #6 on the Billboard 200. The groove-heavy, guitar-driven pop-rock album also hit #19 on the ARIA chart and #36 on the official New Zealand music chart.  Sometime Last Night and LOUDER combined have over 54M streams on Spotify. The band’s extensive social reach is over 23million fans combined. The band has recently appeared on Good Morning AmericaEllenLIVE! with Kelly & Michael and Jimmy Kimmel Live!

Meanwhile, YouTube & Vine sensations 19-year-olds Jack Gilinsky and Jack Johnson, known to their combined 20 million social media followers as Jack & Jack have sold over a million singles and played Wembley Arena in 2015. Yet they're not signed, instead opting for independent distribution deal with DistroKid. Hence, they'll be banking the majority of the profits of their No. 1 iTunes album chart ‘Calibraska' and the royalties from their hit single "Wild Life”, which has 12.4 million views on YouTube.

DJ RYLAND, the youngest of the Lynch clan, initially worked behind the scenes as lighting director when R5 started touring.  Shortly thereafter, he found his calling in the performance world as a DJ, opening for R5.  Today, Ryland’s high energy set combined with his infectious charisma, captivates audiences as he and the band travel the world.

It has also been announced that Adelaide’s AT SUNSET will be the support on the Australian and New Zealand tour.  Brothers Harrison and Andrew Kantarias and their good mate, Tom Jay Williams came together with two things in common: their love of music and their enthusiasm for fun things in life.  In two short years since making an online presence, the band have amassed over 5 million views on YouTube, have 300,000 combined Twitter followers and are millionaires in the currency of likes on Facebook. The group performed to a sell-out crowd at the CINCO 2 Festival in LA last year and wowed the crowd when they performed and were slimed at NICKELODEON’S SLIMEFEST in Sydney and Melbourne in September.

R5 And Jack & Jack, Supported By DJ Ryland And Australia’s At Sunset - a show not to be missed!
