Wellington neo-dub/roots seven-piece Tunes of I are proud to announce today’s release of their debut album Restless and first single The Circle.
Produced by Barnaby Weir (The Black Seeds, Fly My Pretties) and recorded in legendary Wellington studio The Surgery with Lee Prebble, Restless is the product of a successful Kickstarter Campaign and described by the band as the culmination of four years work. The Circle is their first single from the album.
The album and single release is the beginning of a long summer for Tunes of I, with their Summer Album Release Tour launching on December 11 in Wellington at San Fran. With only half of the dates announced, the tour already sees them performing their album the length of the country, in a massive undertaking that the band is becoming known for.
Highlights of the first tour announcement include their performance at Soundsplash in Raglan, and a mini tour over Waitangi Weekend with Whakatane’s L.A.B; the latest incarnation of the Kora Brothers that has been selling out shows throughout the North Island. Tunes of I has hinted that they are yet to announce two more major festival slots.
Restless – distributed by Rhythmethod – is now available from iTunes, streaming on Spotify, and from JB HiFi, The Warehouse and all major record stores.
