Killswitch Engage To Support Disturbed

25 November 2015 - 1 Comment

Frontier Touring is proud to present the return of Disturbed to New Zealand in 2016! David Draiman, Dan Donegan, Mike Wengren and John Moyer are Disturbed, Chicago's number one hard rock pioneers! Disturbed return to New Zealand next January to play one killer show at Auckland's Vector Arena and the show just got even bigger with the announcement that metalcore group Killswitch Engage will open the show!

Killswitch Engage burst onto the scene with the genre-defining Alive or Just Breathing, notching a Grammy nomination in 2005 for the title track from 2004's gold-certified The End of Heartache and following up that landmark album with the Gold-selling As Daylight Dies and gracing the covers of countless metal and rock magazines around the world.

Through the '00s, Killswitch Engage adopted a versatile, non-stop touring schedule. The band's road history includes two treks on Ozzfest, stints on Warped Tour and Taste of Chaos, as they have that rare ability to straddle the line between the metal and alternative scenes by touring with Slayer and Mastodon as easily as My Chemical Romance and Underoath.

It's been 10 years since the band were last in New Zealand and throughout their long career they have remained one of the premier, most successful bands to emerge from the so-called New Wave of American metal.

This is the Disturbeds fourth NZ appearance since 2003 and will once again prove their absolute loyalty to their kiwi fans when they play one show only at Auckland's Vector Arena on Thursday 28th January.

"Disturbed are huge in New Zealand. The American metallers have topped the charts here...- a fact that singer David Draiman was quick to thank the crowd for.

They've achieved that success by keeping things simple... good, honest - and bloody loud - rock". - Fairfax NZ

From their quadruple-platinum 2000 debut The Sickness to now having sold over 12 million records globally, the band's new album Immortalized is living up to its title and fortifying Disturbed legacy even further. They became only the third band in history to debut five consecutive albums at #1 in America after Immortalizedtopped the Billboard 200 earlier this year and have remained one of the most relevant bands in heavy rock music of all time.
