As the old store at 438 Queen St closes its doors for the final time
Real Groovy - one of Auckland city’s remaining stores from the golden era and
much-loved and revered record store - is celebrating by opening its (new) doors
at 369 Queen Street to the city on Saturday 23rd January, in a fête
extravaganza!
And you are invited!
To celebrate right, the new house of Groovy will come alive with an array of
classic festival shenanigans and probably a lot of facepaint, as well as
offering a taste of what’s good to eat and drink in the community.
In what can only be described as a “GREAT LINE UP” artists will be kicking off
in the courtyard outside at approx. 11am with Thomas Oliver (solo), RACKETS, LarzRanda, Lydia
Cole, Paquin and
local DJs will be adding to the aural spinning records all afternoon.
Brooklyn Dogs, Nice Blocks and Zorrito Café will
be on site to quench your thirst and fill your belly. The kids will be
entertained by magicians and face painting and Real Groovy are offering up free
club cards and there will be spot prizes galore.
But the real reason why we’re celebrating of course is… REAL GROOVY have
stocked the shelves, filled the crates and are ready for you!
