Music News - A Wilhelm Scream Coming To Auckland

A Wilhelm Scream Coming To Auckland

07 March 2016 - 0 Comments

Massachusetts party starters A WILHELM SCREAM are finally coming back to NZ, playing a one off show @ Whammy on Thursday June 2nd 2016!

The most exhilarating punk rock is meant to be played at the outer limits of what is technically possible, right? It is according to A Wilhelm Scream.

If what you're looking for is music from an honest place, then you've found it in A Wilhelm Scream, the far from cliché Quintet, outta New Bedford, Massachusetts (The band takes their name from the stock sound effect first used in the 1951 film Distant Drums and popularized by its use by sound designer Ben Burtt in the beloved Star Wars trilogy.)

Avoiding bandwagons and bucking trends for over a decade, with several releases on Nitro Records, Paper + Plastick and No Idea, AWS (as they are known to their worldwide fan base) are widely recognized for their highly energized and exhausting live shows with a battery of riff-heavy rock that never serves to disappoint. it has been said of the act that they are “one of the most creatively engaging and thoroughly fun and exciting bands in punk.”

They’ve been promising a follow up to 2013’s full length album Party Crasherfor a while now so we’re hoping for a preview of some new stuff when they make their way back to NZ in June 2016.
