Hollie
Smith released her
greatly-anticipated third album Water Or Gold on April 1, and is currently touring the album
nationwide.
After kicking off last week in the South Island with gigs in Twizel, Wanaka and
Christchurch; Hollie
Smith is now joined by newcomers, alae, for the North
Island leg of the tour.
alae is
what you get when you mix Alex
Farrell-Davey and Allister
Meffan; two old high school mates who are talented musicians in
their own right, but when they come together, it’s something else entirely.
They’re not sugar-coated or created in a lab - they got together because, for
them, jamming together just feels right. And you'll feel that in everything you
hear. alae’s
debut single, All Gived
Up, is out now.
The Water Or Goldtour continues to Napier on April 7, Wellington April 8 and New Plymouth on
April 9. The final week sees Whangarei on April 14, Auckland on April 15 and
finishes up in Mount Maunganui on April 16.
Water Or Goldwas produced by Smith
and mixed in New York with Kiwi producer and engineer Aaron Nevezie. Nevezie has been based
in the States since 1998 and has worked with the likes of The Black Keys and Danger Mouse.
Water Or Goldwas released April 1 and is currently #1 on iTunes and available here
